COMPLETING AN INSPECTION ON THE MOBILE APP

The inspection process depends on the settings in the Inspection Management Console (IMC). For more information about these settings please read the “Managing Inspections” page. It this is the first time you use the app, please read the “Quick Start Guide” first.

Starting an inspection of a newly assembled tower

  1. On any of the tower listing pages tap the blue plus symbol to start a new inspection for a newly assembled tower. This will open the New Tower page.
  2. If you have been invited to or created one or more Projects in the IMC, the “Tower is part of a Project” box will be ticked and you will be able to select a Project by tapping on “Project” and a site by tapping “Site“.
  3. If you are using the app on its own (without the IMC) then untick “Tower is part of a Project” and manually type “Job or Location“.
  4. Now select “Tower Type“.
  5. A “Tower ID” will be automatically created. Optionally, you can take a note of it or even write it on the tower for easy identification of the tower, especially when there are more towers used on the same site.
  6. The “Inspection Record Label” is optional. Please click here for more information about these labels.
  7. If the tower is assembled as part of a Project, you then need to select on behalf of which Organisation the tower has been assembled.
  8. Optionally you can add some notes about the tower.
  9. Tap “Continue
  10. Be default you will be selected as the person who assembled the tower. If you did not assemble the tower, untick the box “Did you assemble the tower?” and then provide details of the person who did. You may add the assembler’s PASMA Certificate Number. If the assembler has a card with contactless chip, then you can scan the card by simply tapping the “N)))” symbol. Your phone will need to be NFC capable and enabled. If not, you need to manually type the Certificate Number.
  11. Select the height of the highest platform in the tower using the slider. If the platform height is 20m or more, please type the actual height.
  12. Select whether the tower is used “Indoor” or “Outdoor”. By default “Outdoor” is selected. When selected, the chosen option turns solid blue with white text.
  13. Tap “Continue to Inspection

Completing the Checklist

Depending on the settings of the Project for which this tower is assembled you will now be presented with a checklist. However, if the Project has been set up using a different inspection regime, you may not see this checklist and you you can then skip straight to “Completing the Inspection” below.

If you do see the checklist, please read the questions in turn and tick the green box if the tower complies. If not you must remedy the issue on the tower first before you can continue with the inspection in the app. Tapping the red box will remind you of this. Only if all questions are answered with a green tick can you complete the checklist.

Completing the Inspection

You will now see a summary of your inspection. Please make sure the details are correct. If not you can use the back button (“<” symbol in the top left of the screen) to go back and make changes as require.

If the details are correct, you now need to take at least one photograph of the tower. Just tap the “+” symbol. You can take more than one picture and when you have taken a number of pictures you can delete those you don;t want by tapping the little “x” symbol.

Here is some guidance for taking photographs of towers:

For privacy reasons, avoid taking pictures of people!

  • Make sure all parts of the tower are clearly visible
  • Avoid taking pictures with the light coming from behind the tower, as this makes it difficult to see detail
  • If it is not possible to get everything to fit in a single frame, then take more pictures to cover all parts of the tower
  • Also take additional pictures if you want to show some specific detail

Finally you can add some comments about the inspection you have just completed

If you were not presented with a checklist you will be asked to tick a box confirming that you have assembled the tower according the instruction manual.

Then tap “Complete” to send the inspection to the database.
